Get your first wishlist live

1. Back up a staging copy of your store. Use single-site WordPress 7.0+, WooCommerce 10.0+ and PHP 8.2+.
2. For a fresh installation, install Wishlist Genius Free 0.3.0 first, then optional Pro 0.3.0. Keep Free active.
3. For an existing 0.2.0, 0.2.1 or 0.2.2 pair, update Pro first, then Free, without uninstalling. Update both before configuring new integrations.
4. Earlier Free beta stores can retain cart save-for-later and public discovery at no cost: activate the Beta Features companion before updating Free. Matching Pro takes precedence if both are active.

Existing lists, notes, quantities, sharing choices and consent remain. The new release adds configuration and integration storage; keep your database backup with the matching old plugin files. New alerts and connections start off.

Select Create or locate wishlist page. The plugin will preserve unrelated existing pages and create a page containing its wishlist block or shortcode. You can also select an existing published wishlist page by name.

Choose catalog and product-page buttons, the one-list quick-save behavior, button position, text, icon, accent color, and corner radius. Select categories by name if you want to limit where buttons appear. Save your settings before checking the storefront.

Wishlist Genius remembers the last available admin section in this browser tab. You can return to Setup & settings at any time. If settings or templates have unsaved changes, choose Save and continue, Discard changes, or Keep editing before switching sections. Pro-only sections are skipped when only Free is active.

1. Open a product in a separate browser session and save it.
2. Check its saved state, then try Undo. Save it again.
3. Open the wishlist, change the quantity, and add a private note.
4. Add it to the cart and confirm the correct product options and quantity.
5. Sign in and check that guest items merge without overwriting conflicting account selections.
6. On a variable product, select its required options before saving.

Check your theme, checkout, caching, product add-ons, and mail provider on staging. This is an alpha release. Keep backups, review the release notes, and check the wishlist, product options and cart on your staging store. The website preview uses a sample catalog; installing the plugin is the way to test your actual WooCommerce integration.

Install 0.3.0 manually once to add the updater. Under WooCommerce → Wishlist Pro updates, choose Check once now or enable optional future checks. The release service receives your connection IP and Pro version; no store URL, account email, license key or shopper details are sent. Checks verify signed release information and the exact installer. Turning checks off stops future publisher requests. Automatic installation remains a separate WordPress choice.
